About PawRation
Every bag of dog food prints a feeding chart. The problem: that chart assumes a "typical" dog — and yours isn't typical. PawRation turns your dog's actual numbers into actual portions.
What we do differently
The math is the same one your vet's software runs. Resting energy requirement (RER = 70 × weight0.75) multiplied by life-stage factors published in WSAVA veterinary nutrition guidelines — no secret "algorithm," nothing invented here.
Every number is sourced. Breed weights cite kennel-club standards. Food calorie densities come from manufacturer Calorie Content (ME) labels, each with the source and the date we checked it. If we estimated something, we say so.
Free, no sign-up, no dark patterns. The calculator works in three inputs. We don't ask for your email to show you a number.
What this is not
PawRation is an educational tool, not veterinary advice. Formulas describe populations — your dog is an individual with a metabolism, a body condition score, and a vet who can put hands on them. Use our numbers as a starting point, then adjust to what you see and feel.
Found something off?
Recipes get reformulated and charts get redrawn — if a number here looks stale or wrong, tell us and we'll re-check it against the current label.
